Sharing Custody for the Holidays
Sharing Custody for the Holidays
One of the major difficulties that former couples run into during the process of divorce, is dividing time with, and sharing custody of the children. Emotions can run high when it comes to the subject of child custody, and the subject can become especially prickly around the holiday season. Both parents of course want to be with their children on the holidays, and have equal share in a chance at family time.
There are many creative ways to divide up the parental schedules over the holidays, so that each parent feels included and that they have sufficient time with their children. For instance, one parent could have custody of the child on Christmas Eve, while the other parent picks the child up on Christmas morning to spend Christmas Day with them. The child will get to wake up and open presents in traditional Christmas style, while still having even more presents to look forward to when they get to spend time with their other parent.
